Cristian has over ten years experience developing therapeutic ultrasound devices and microelectronic products. Since 2006, he was closely involved in the development of the ultrasonic dental technology at the University of Alberta, where he was the liaison between the medical and electrical engineering teams on the design, testing and biological validation of the technology concept. Cristian’s passion to commercialize and bring this technology to the hands of dentists and patients led him to launch SmileSonica in 2008. Cristian earned a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Alberta.

John H.C. Pinsent, CA
Chief Financial Officer
John is a founding partner with St. Arnaud Pinsent Steman Chartered Accountants, following a distinguished ten-year career in the Assurance practice of Ernst and Young LLP.
John currently serves as a director on a number of public, private and not for profit boards. He has also played an active role in the creation of various financing forum initiatives across Alberta including the Banff Venture Forum, Alberta’s Innovation and Investment Week, various BioFinance and AgriFinance events and currently serves as a Director of the Alberta Venture Channel and is a member of AVAC Ltd.    

Darryl Lesiuk, MBA
Vice President, Corporate Development
Darryl has more than 20 years experience in the creation and operation of technology companies in both the private and public sectors. His experience includes over 15 years of dental practice operations, being a Senior Management Consultant for Meyers Norris Penny’s Health and Dental consulting practice, and the direct exposure to the dental communities approach to adopting new technology. His achievements include building company infrastructure and value chains, creation of international distribution and marketing networks, the commercialization of technologies, and the attraction of investors.
